Counselling in Carlisle & online. Find your way forward.
A safe, warm space to talk openly, without judgement. Counselling in person at Bourne House in Carlisle, or online or by phone from wherever you feel most comfortable.
Hi, I’m Shaun.
I offer a safe, warm and compassionate space where you can speak openly, without fear of judgement. Taking the first step into counselling can feel overwhelming, so my priority is to help you feel heard, understood and truly at ease from your very first session.
I work in a person-centred way, because I believe that you are the expert on your own life. Together, we’ll explore whatever you’re facing, at a pace that feels comfortable and right for you.

My approach to therapy
Person-Centred Therapy
Person-Centred counselling puts you right at the heart of our work together. It’s built on a simple, powerful premise: given the right environment of genuine warmth, honesty, and deep understanding, you naturally have the capacity to heal and grow. I don’t set the agenda or direct your choices. Instead, I offer a steady, compassionate space where you can feel truly heard, process life at your own pace, and uncover your own answers.
Transactional Analysis
Transactional Analysis gives us a down-to-earth framework for understanding what makes us tick, and why we interact with others the way we do. It helps you shine a light on the old patterns, subconscious scripts, and inner self-talk you’ve been carrying around for years. Once you have a clear language for what’s happening beneath the surface, changing those habits becomes so much easier.
Humanistic Counselling
At its core, humanistic therapy rests on a simple truth: you are the ultimate expert on your own life. I’m not here to label you, diagnose you, or hand out advice. Instead, I offer a warm, judgment-free space where you can safely explore what’s happening beneath the surface, tune out the noise, and reconnect with your own inner direction.
